15 is an awfully small number, but here’s them wot came to mind first
Not the best 15 books you’ve ever read, or even ones you’d recommend to others. Just 15 books that have made their mark on you and will always stick with you, for whatever reason. Supposed to be done in 15 minutes.
1. Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk
2. 1984 - George Orwell
3. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
4. Arkham Asylum: a Serious House On Serious Earth - Grant Morrison
5. Crush - Richard Siken
6. Choke - Chuck Palahniuk
7. Dark Tower: The Gunslinger - Stephen King
8. American Gods - Neil Gaiman
9. Metamagical Themas - Douglas Hofstadter (Although I haven’t read all of it)
10. Where the Wild Things Are - Maurice Sendak
11. A Fly Went By - Mike McClintock
12. The Killing Joke - Alan Moore
13. Blank Composition Book
14. Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman
15. The Audacity of Hope - Barack Obama
Given that it is currently 3:56 A.M., I’m not sure how truly qualified my list is, but most of them were books that have really influenced me, especially the top five. And yes, two are graphic novels, two are children’s books, and one is a school supply. Sue me.
